Polycrystalline aluminum alloy is manufactured by annealing, compared to the width of the specimen, the size of the grains

In this study, moiré interferometry is successfully applied to measure the deformation of the polycrystalline specimen. The
experimental results presented the stress versus strain responses of the marked grains in different orientations and different

Experiments were conducted using porous ceramic inserts to enhance the radiative heat transfer from natural gas flames in a straight-through radiant tube burner. The performance of the radiant tube burner with partially stabilized zirconia and silicon carbide inserts is compared to a baseline case of no inserts at three levels of combustion air preheat. Spectral intensities, temperatures within the radiant tube burner, tube wall temperatures, and exhaust temperatures were measured to determine the effectiveness of the enhanced heat transfer due to the inserts. Exhaust emission constituents were also measured to determine the effect that the inserts have on exhaust products. NOx emissions are reduced by up to 30% with the inserts. The silicon carbide inserts have higher spectral intensities and total radiative energy transfer than partially stabilized zirconia inserts. Both inserts have enhanced radiant heat transfer compared to the no-insert configuration, with the radiative enhancement due to inserts as great as five times that of the no-insert configuration. The net result is increased tube wall temperatures and decreased exhaust temperatures with the ceramic inserts. 相似文献

Summary By regarding geomaterials under loading as a mixture of intact and damaged parts, we investigate the influence of damage on the properties of strain localization in elastoplastic geomaterials at plane stress and plane strain. Conditions for the onset of strain localization including the effects of damage are derived for the cases of plane strain and plane stress. Discussed are the inclination of the localized band and the hardening modulus corresponding to the onset of strain localization. It is shown that the properties of the strain localization are dependent on the damage and the capacity of bearing hydrostatic pressure by the damaged part, and that damage may induce an earlier onset of strain localization and lead to instability of a geomaterial.accepted for publication 11 March 2004 相似文献

A crystallographic creep damage constitutive model is developed for nickel-base directionally solidified superalloys. The rates of material degradation and grain boundary void growth are considered. The governing parameters are determined from the creep test data of single crystals and directionally solidified superalloys with a crystallographic orientation. A finite element program is used to analyze the creep damage behavior of nickel-base directionally solidified superalloys for different crystallographic orientations. 以广东某水坝为研究对象,给出一种基于Fluent平台和Ansys平台进行结构动力响应分析的方法。首先采用基于YOUNGS界面重构技术的VOF模型,对流动进行数值模拟,成功捕捉了闸门开启过程中自由面的变化,比较了在三种落差情况下水坝的受力差异。计算表明,即使在上游平稳的入流条件下,水坝所受到的湍流水压力也会出现波动现象,水压力对坝体的冲击为低频作用,下游水位的升高会减缓水压力的波动,这些特点都与现场观察的相符。然后将水动力作为激励条件导入结构动力分析平台Ansys后,进一步对坝体结构进行动力分析。结构的模态分析结果与实测结果一致。因此,方法可以应用于实际。 相似文献

This paper is devoted to direct comparisons of related, detailed experimental and numerical studies of the non-linear, late
stages of laminar-turbulenttransition in a boundary layer including flow breakdown and the beginning offlow randomization.
Preceding non-linear stages of the transition process arealso well documented and compared with previous studies. The experiments
wereconducted with the help of a hot-wire anemometer. The numerical study wascarried out by direct numerical simulation (DNS)
of the flow employing theso-called spatial approach. Both the experiments and the DNS were performed atcontrolled disturbance
conditions with an excitation of instability waves inthe flat-plate boundary layer. In the two cases, the primary disturbanceconsists
of a time-harmonic, two-dimensional Tollmien--Schlichting wave thathas a very weak initial spanwise modulation. Despite somewhat
differentinitial disturbance conditions used in the experiment and simulation, thesubsequent flow evolution at late non-linear
stages is found to be practicallythe same. Detailed qualitative and quantitative comparisons of theinstantaneous velocity
and vorticity fields are performed for twocharacteristic stages of the non-linear flow breakdown: (i) “one-spike stage” and
(ii) “three-spike stage.” The twoapproaches clearly show in detail the process of development of the Γ-structure, a periodical
formation of ring-like vortices, the evolution of the surrounding flow field, and the beginning of flowrandomization. In particular,
it is found experimentally and numerically thatthe ring-like vortices (associated with the well-known spikes) induce somerather
intensive positive velocity fluctuations (positive spikes) in thenear-wall region which have the same scales as the ring-like
vortices and propagate downstream with the same high (almost free-stream) speed. The positive spikes form a new high-shear
layer in the near-wall region. In the experiment the induced near-wall perturbationshave a significant irregular low-frequency
component. These non-periodicalmotions play an important role in the process of flow randomization and finaltransition to
turbulence that starts under the ring-like vortices in thevicinity of the peak position.

The first-passage time of Duffing oscillator under combined harmonic andwhite-noise excitations is studied. The equation of motion of the system is firstreduced to a set of averaged Itô stochastic differential equations by using thestochastic averaging method. Then, a backward Kolmogorov equation governing theconditional reliability function and a set of generalized Pontryagin equationsgoverning the conditional moments of first-passage time are established. Finally, theconditional reliability function, and the conditional probability density and momentsof first-passage time are obtained by solving the backward Kolmogorov equation andgeneralized Pontryagin equations with suitable initial and boundary conditions.Numerical results for two resonant cases with several sets of parameter values areobtained and the analytical results are verified by using those from digital simulation. 相似文献
